Royce 5'9 has been steady building over the last 5 years as a member of the Shady Records dream team Slaughter House as well as solo and guests features. Never one to reach too far for commercial recognition, it feels like the 9 Mile representer is preparing for his biggest campaign thus far. Royce's strength has always been introspective/detailed story telling, his current stint with the Slaughter's has probably led Royce to leaning more to battle lines. It feels like the 5'9 is getting back in the zone he inhabited on his "Death is Certain (KOCH)" LP from 2004, story telling that would make Oliver Stone proud. His new solo album, titled Layers, will hit stores on April 15 via Bad Half Entertainment.
