Video: Kendrick Lamar - These Walls ft. Bilal, Anna Wise, Thundercat
Kendrick Lamar unveiled an eight minute clip for “These Walls” today. Titled “Behind The Walls: A Black Comedy,” it’s more of a short film than a music video. The clip is narrated from the perspective of an inmate in prison who relates the story of how he ended up behind bars. During an interlude in the crisp funk of “These Walls,” Terry Crews and Kendrick execute a synchronized dance to iHeart Memphis’ breakout smash, “Hit The Quan.” Colin Tilley directed the clip, and it ends with a “to be continued…”.
“These Walls” appeared on To Pimp A Butterfly, which came out in March. Kendrick recently performed the album with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C.; read about the show here.

Video: Mac Miller - 100 Grandkids
“100 Grandkids" is the first single from Mac Millers recently released GO: OD am album. Debuted live at the Grassroots Festival, the track finds Mac showcasing his slick wordplay & effortless flow, while reflecting on his come up and getting his first hundred grand.
The track flips Diddy’s “Bad Boys For Life” for a catchy hook, making it a well-rounded hit.
The music video features Mac as a narrator to a bizarre, but fun, version of Romeo & Juliet, with kids dressed up as animals and Mac with his face on a moon, reminiscent of the children’s television show, Teletubbies. The second half shows Mac exiting the performance and rapping in front of a sick car in the parking lot of the theater.
The second part of the music video is reminiscent of the one for “Worst Behavior,” a single off of Drake’s third studio album Nothing Was the Same. The similarity would be no surprise, as Mac has stated in the past that not only is he a Drake fan, but he’s planning to do as Drake does also.

Video: David Banner: The American Dream Wasn't Meant for Black People
David Banner gave yet another insightful interview as he sat down with DJ Smallz and reflected on his lectures, which strive to bring consciousness back to the youth. The Mississippi artist also shared his thoughts on Black culture, including why he believes that the "American Dream" was never meant for Black people.
"It was never meant for us to be a part of it. We chased it so hard that we put our children in front of the television...which was programmed to make them feel like they were less than human. You wonder why kids want to be thieves, that's all they ever saw on television for the most part."
The "Get Like Me" emcee also shared his thoughts on why he came back to rap, telling DJ Smallz that a lot of the rappers with a message left the game due to album sales dipping. He added, "We left these kids alone. And as much as they say they want money, you know what they want even more? It's your time."
Check out more of what David Banner had to say in the above clip.
